We got a chance to meet the Ad Guru of India and we didnโt let it go empty handed. Following are some of his views which he shared on digital media and advertising before the event ๐
โTraditional media is one-sided whereas, digital media opens up all kinds of possibilities for two way interaction.โ
โTraditional media is one-off, we create something and then wait for results, whereas, digital media is the opening of multiple relationshipsโ
On asking about the brand value and storytelling in traditional as well in digital media, he said,
โThough the brand value and the storytelling capabilities around the brand will remain the same but in digital media one can have the possibility of keeping the ends open endedโ
Prahlad told that โAdvertising is pretty similar to a football match which has gone into extra time, it is called sudden death. There is no past and no future. You are as good as your last piece of work. It requires that spirit of competition and keeping up with the good work.โ
During his stage talk with the audience, Prahlad stressed upon the importance of social media to the brands and how social media has given the flexibility to reach to a broader audience and get their feedback. The generation today is getting more and more inclined to shopping online, getting reviews and abiding by the trusted sources. So the future of social media is interacting with the consumers and building campaigns which revolve around dialogues where stories can be told.
