Apart from the session, we got an opportunity to chat with Tanvi before the event where she gave some useful insights into the dos and don’ts of forming your brand, saying:
“Social media has given us a platform, a window to put their expertise, their thought leadership and their talent out there in front of the world for everybody to witness, get value from and celebrate people.”
“People grow, change, learn, evolve every single day and so do their brand. Your brand is what you are, what you know and what your expertise is and how that adds value to your communities and that has to grow and evolve every single day.”
Dos:
1) Go for re-invention of your brands every 2-3 years
2) Have your own website. It’s your identity. Own that digital real estate in today’s date
3) Ensure you are present on relevant social media platforms depending on your industry and where your target audience community is active and engaging. Be active, engaging, and present on those platforms and add value to them.
Don’ts:
1) Do not emulate your icons. Everyone has their unique charm that they bring on the table and that is your BRAND. Figure out your uniqueness and use that to draw people towards your brand.
2) Do not turn your social media profiles into a ghost dump. It draws people away. It showcases that you are not committed towards doing something.
3) Be present on two platforms, if you need to but be present 24/7instead of being there on 20 platforms and none of them active.
